Where are the Jews?

What is the mission of the Jewish people? What is the meaning of being Jewish? Why is there such a thing as a Jewish people? We may give our children a Jewish education, but there is one thing that we too often fail to teach them. And that role we should be playing in this world.

Non-Jewish historians and philosophers have written at length about the Jewish mission in the world. But ironically, this sense of mission is entirely absent from Jewish education in religious schools in Israel.
